Dakota Oswalt

Dakota Oswalt, AHS Needle Lead Editor, Podcast Lead Editor

Senior Dakota Oswalt is a dedicated third-year journalist of AHS. Oswalt said her favorite part of journalism is getting to tell the stories of other people in the school. “I love writing stories and then writing captions for the yearbook. I’ve been known to be kind of clever when it comes to things like lead-ins and stuff for the yearbook. I like to make puns and play on words so I definitely love words and writing,” she said. Oswalt has also worked in all three “departments” of journalism which includes being the co-leader of both the newspaper and podcast and having worked on the yearbook.

In addition to Journalism, Oswalt participates in Dance at Villa Dance Company, is part of the National Honors Society, and is President of Quill and Scroll. It’s an International Honors Society for journalism students. She works at the YMCA as the lead slide attendant. Her hobbies include dancing, hanging out with friends and family, and watching TV, “Spongebob especially.” The thing she looks forward to most this year is writing in journalism and enjoying her last year of high school as a senior.
