Alyssa Neal, Newspaper Editor
Alyssa Neal is an AHS junior and a second-year journalism student. Neal does a little bit of everything. She has made a yearbook page, videos for Eye of the Needle, and currently works in the newspaper department which is her favorite. Neal said, “Using my words to express” is apart of journalism she likes, along with showing different views and opinions in the school. Neal likes how you can “bounce around” in journalism, be creative, and have a free voice in the class.
Neal enjoys First Fridays, where all journalism departments get together and eat breakfast while talking about the goods and bads of journalism.
Other activities Neal is involved in are managing cross-country and basketball, and being a part of AHS Fuel, the club that promotes school spirit.
During the summer, Neal worked at the Rock Island Hotel as a housekeeper. Her favorite things outside of school are going to church, spending time with friends, playing her six instruments, and writing. Something she looks forward to this year is Homecoming week, and going to school sporting events to cheer on her peers.
