Dani Mathisen, Senior Magazine Lead Editor

Senior Dani Mathisen is the lead editor of the senior magazine. She is also a writer for AHSneedle.com. Mathisen said some of her favorite stories to read are “basically anything that Ariel writes because she brings a certain set of skill to her writing, which is crazy for her age.” Mathisen is most proud of her sucicide pervention story and her take on covering girls wrestling.

Mathisen’s favorite memory from high school was when she was a freshman during homecoming “because the seniors got dead last for the spirit stick.” She also really enjoys going to football games because she loves the environment. Mathisen enjoys having a shortened class schedule as a senior. She is a little nervous about college, but also very excited for the future. Throughout high school, Mathisen has been involved in student council, dance team, journalism, NHS, AHS fuel, and the cross country manager.

Someone that Mathisen really looks up to is “my grandma. Her name is Jane.” She said they are similar in a lot of ways and she connects most with her.

Mathisen’s ideal day would be a perfect picture of fall where she could wear sweatpants all day and go to a pumpkin patch with her friends. She would go home and cuddle with her dog, Ruby, while watching halloween movies and drinking hot green tea with milk and honey, a favorite of Mathisen.
