Mia Trotter

Mia Trotter, Broadcasting Editor in Chief

Senior Mia Trotter is the producer of Eye of the Needle. This means she helps come up with ideas and answers any of the anchor or editors’ questions. Trotter is involved in volleyball, cheer, journalism, track, National Honor Society, and she is in the mentoring program.

Trotter’s favorite story to write was “the story about girls wrestling and how it got started.” Trotter and senior editor Dani Mathisen wrote about the girls wrestling program together.  Trotter said, “It was really fun to talk to the girls about why they started the program and how they pushed through everyone discouraging them.”

Trotter said she likes to go out on weekends and be very social, but she also likes her alone time at home in bed. She said, “I am pretty outgoing because I really don’t have a filter around people, but sometimes I can be shy.” Trotter’s ideal day would be waking up at 11, eating bacon, watching lots of Grey’s Anatomy, getting a happy meal, and then going to bed.

Some of her favorite memories in high school have been from making videos for Eye of the Needle with senior Bryer Rose. Another memory she remembered was beating Creston in volleyball last year. She said it was so memorable because it was a big win and the team was feeling very accomplished. Trotter’s favorite part of being a senior is “only having to be at the high school a few periods a day, but it’s kind of sad how I won’t be here next year.”
