The Social Committee, also known as the Climate and Culture Adults, organized a game called “Shamrock Shenanigans.” According to committee member Mandi Brauer, the committee’s purpose was to organize activities for staff and teachers during and after school hours. There was an email sent out to the adults with the set of rules, and they were also posted around the school. The game was set up for teachers and staff only, just for the fun of it, and also for them to get to know their coworkers. The goal of the game was to collect the shamrocks and place them on their doors for points.
While teachers and staff were collecting, they were also allowed to steal from other staff members. However, if they were caught by that staff member, they had to put the shamrock back on the door. According to Brauer, there were at least 250 shamrocks posted around the school, and also hidden. The game was posted to end at 1:51 p.m. after school on Wednesday, March 18. The teachers and staff were also asked to meet up in the media center and to count up all their shamrocks for points. The winner was school nurse Kellli Evans, who got a gift card as a winning prize.
