Over $343,000 was awarded on Wednesday, May 6, to the class of 2026. Scholarship Night was organized by Mrs Honke, it was held in the auditorium. Scholarship nights are annual ceremonies held by high schools, to recognize senior students for academic achievement, community service, and leadership. Forty-nine students in total received scholarships that night. Gina Honke, guidance secretary and organizer of the event would like all AHS students to know “community service is just as important as their grades.”
Senior Ellie Butler, winner of Ross Clark Memorial Scholarship and the Dorothy Podolack Memorial Teaching Scholarship, said, “These scholarships meant a lot to me because they will help me financially, and it shows the hard work and determination I have put into all four years of high school.”
