The final bell will ring at 3:13 on Friday, and the school year will become another memory. Early mornings, laughs with friends, school dances, football games, and hard tests will become another moment that students will remember.
Freshman Henley Coffman said, “My favorite memory this year was soccer season because I got to play with both of my sisters.” She is looking forward to soccer season next year; however, it won’t be the same without her older sister, Aydrie Coffman, who is a senior. Growing up in high school also means watching your favorite seniors, who everyone will truly miss, leave each year. Coffman got to enjoy these moments during soccer and will recall them in the future with her siblings.
When sophomore Yzechiel said his favorite memory this year was the Atlantic vs Creston football game. The fireworks after the game made the moment unforgettable. Jimenez is looking forward to continuing to be in sports next year.
Stellah Van Aernam, a junior, will look back on when she won the Hawkeye 10 track meet. This was a significant moment because it was such a huge accomplishment that she will forever be proud of. Next year, she is excited to graduate, but will cherish each memory she made.
These moments might seem like small memories, but they are unforgettable recollections that students make each day. They lead students into the future with lessons learned and different perceptions of themselves. These small moments become each person’s story, and as this chapter closes, students realize they are saying goodbye to memories that mean so much.
As summer approaches, Atlantic High School students can appreciate everything they learned. The friendships they have built and the challenges they have overcome give them a reason to celebrate.
Thank you to each student, teacher, and faculty member for making this year a cherishable one. Have a great summer and see you next year!
