On Tuesday, March 17, the Atlantic FFA held its monthly chapter meeting, but this one was a little different. During the meeting, new officers were elected to serve on the 2026-27 officer team.
This year, the chapter introduced a new election process. Instead of the traditional format, each candidate participated in an interview conducted by the retiring officers, and those interviews were then used to determine the final ballot. “I thought it was a different experience. It got people out of their comfort zones and was good interview practice for those who could use the experience. This can help prepare people for the real world,” said Jacquie Freund.
Out of the 13 members who applied, eight were selected to serve in officer positions. FFA Advisor Eric Miller shared his support for the new team, saying, “Thank you to everyone who participated in the election. I think we will have an outstanding team next year.”
