As the 2025-26 school year comes to an end, the seniors left and it’s time for a new grade to replace them. The eighth grade students are very excited to start a new chapter of their schooling. Grade 8, Clayton Kelley, said, “I am very excited to play sports with new people.” High school is a fun way to meet new people through extracurricular activities. Grade 8, Cassidy Kennedy, said, “Classes with other grades will be fun, I am excited.” The incoming freshman also expressed excitement for the option of electives and new choices for their schedule. The students however, did say they were nervous about being the youngest grade in the school.

Jayna McEntaffer is a sophomore staff member on AHS Needle who enjoys telling stories through writing. Her favorite part of journalism is writing stories because she thinks it’s interesting and cool to write down her thoughts. Her other favorite part of journalism is learning about the news and staying informed about what’s happening around her.
McEntaffer has two brothers and a sister. Outside of journalism, McEntaffer enjoys playing soccer and staying active. When she’s not on the field or working on a story, she likes going on walks because she thinks it’s calming. She hopes to continue improving her writing skills, exploring new ideas, interviewing people, and sharing meaningful stories with readers everywhere.

Aiden Fredrickson, Staff Writer
Aiden Fredrickson is a man of many skills. In journalism he writes, takes photos, and delivers sports on the weekly newscast. He most enjoys getting to talk with everyone and learn about the school and community. As a feminist, he appreciates the contributions of women throughout history. In his free time, he likes to play Pickleball, play video games, hang out with AK, and attend youth group.
