About the Contributors
BoboyJr. Wallipy, Staff Writer
Sophomore Boboy Wallipy is an engaged journalist for the AHS community. He takes pictures throughout the school, during sports events, and writes stories to capture what is going on in Atlantic. In Wallipy’s free time, he enjoys the adventure to other classes to take pictures, capturing moments in teaching as well as learning. He joined Journalism to further explore something that he enjoys and to share it with those around him.
Activities and extracurriculars that Wallipy enjoys are sports with friends and reading. To help manage school, Wallipy reads books to better himself for English class. As his love for reading continues to grow, so does his love for basketball and football. These sports have pushed him beyond his limits and have helped him grow as a person on and off the field/court. He hopes to continue to excel at basketball and football as he plans to make the Varsity team for both.
Jacquelyn Freund, AHS Needle Junior Editor
Jacquelyn Freund is the business manager for AHS Needle as well as a writer. “I really like going to all the businesses and organizing,” she says, which has suited her well as she intends to pursue a career in accounting. But of course, she’s not all business. “I always loved writing stories, and I really wanted to continue that.”
Freund also has aspirations beyond journalism. She hopes to one day go to the University of Nebraska Omaha to be an accountant, and said, “I will have to be good at networking with a lot of people and talking to clients, and this will help me talk to clients.” In her free time, she likes to sew, and she recently finished a large quilt in the style of those used by escaping slaves on the Underground Railroad. She is employed at Milk Unlimited, where she is an assistant to the manager. She also cleans her family’s office and works at a local grocery store in the spring, along with babysitting. She was recently inducted into NHS and participates in 4-H, FFA, and archery.
