Shayla Luke
Coming into high school, Shayla Luke wanted to become more involved in the community so she joined journalism. When Luke first joined journalism, she planned on using her writing skills to publish articles, but instead took interest in the yearbook. Some of her responsibilities include taking photos, designing layouts and writing short captions. Luke is dedicated as well as hardworking and always puts her best work forward when it comes to journalism. Her favorite part about journalism is “being able to work on something with people who have different interests and talents.” When she’s not working on the yearbook, she can be found reading a good book or out on a walk. Luke said, “I use reading and walking to clear my head.” She enjoys reading poetry and fiction novels. She also likes spending time with friends by working out at the YMCA, walking around town, or just talking with them. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is interested in joining sports or “anything that allows me to get outside or out of the house and do something fun.”
