With an aspiration to improve upon writing skills and development, students can engage in their desires of knowledge with a new addition to Atlantic High School. Writing Club, an extracurricular activity held by advisors Allison Berryhill and Randall Simpson, is a half-hour experience for students to expand upon their interests in creative writing.

Held each week during A-O, participating writers are given a “low-risk” assignment to generate thought, later stirred to put these ideas to paper. Sophomore Isabellah Peterson undertakes these happenings, attending as often as possible. She said that the club’s warm up period is very enjoyable for her and many others, rousing her to write at her “very whim.”

Peterson would like for others to know that Writing Club is a great place to go, hoping that others take part in it to “help develop their writing abilities.” Those interested are welcomed in joining, with the addition of more writers increasing the possibility of impactful future stories.
