About the Contributors
Sophia Rose, Staff Writer
Sophomore Sophia Rose is a JP student with AHS journalism. Her passion lies in photography, especially capturing emotional moments, which is shown in her photo project documenting AHS’s boys wrestling team. She is inspired by her sisters Emma and Bryer Rose who also participated in journalism. Sophia is eager to do more photography and “capture raw emotions” and significant moments at AHS.
Beyond journalism, Rose actively participates in tennis, softball, and serves as a track manager. She enjoys reading, organizing, and cherishing quality time with her family. Rose values her family and friends, recognizing their constant support, and holds her faith close to her, finding comfort and security within it.
Chloe Updike, Staff Writer
Chloe Updike is a sophomore in Journalism 2 who enjoys telling informative stories and learning through hands-on reporting. One of her favorite projects was a story about CPR, where she interviewed the school nurse, students, and Health teacher Molly O’Hara. She said the project stood out because “it was a learning experience for me, and I was also able to make it into an informational story for others.” Updike is especially interested in interviewing, photography, and sharing stories, and she is excited to explore options like social media or yearbook in the future.
Outside the classroom, Updike is passionate about football and cheer, and is also involved in dance. In her free time, she enjoys doing her nails, coloring, shopping, and spending time with friends. She values family and friends most, saying they are “always there to support me.” Updike was inspired to join journalism by her cousin Makynzie Steffens and her friend Payton Burg, who encouraged her interest in writing and photography.
Faith Kafton, Staff Writer
Faith Kafton is a sophomore at AHS and a first year member of the journalism program, known for her strong writing skills and solid understanding of news. Kafton enjoys covering school related topics and issues that matter most to the AHS community. She approaches each story with curiosity and passion, always looking for details that make her work both informative and engaging for readers.
Kafton has a particular interest in writing senior stories, as she values learning about students experiences and highlighting their achievements in an honorable and memorable way. She takes pride in keeping readers informed and helping students stay connected to what is happening around them.
Outside of journalism, Kafton enjoys dance, competitive dancing, and traveling to tropical destinations. One fun fact about her is that she has a sister who teaches at a nearby school. Looking ahead, Kafton is excited to continue developing her voice as a journalist while helping AHS students learn more about their school and community.

Keaton Schroeder, Staff Writer
Sophomore Keaton Schroeder says the part of journalism that has him most intrigued is the news stories that he gets to hear. This helps him stay updated with the world and our community. Schroeder is engaged in baseball, golf, and wrestling. He participates in StuCo, FFA, and FBLA. When it’s his free time, he likes to read and enjoys doing sports outside of school. Schroeder loves to clear his mind with exercise and push himself to be better in everyday life. This helps him manage school because it gives him a chance to rest. He values sports and social contact with others. This keeps him busy and sets him forward. What drives him back to Atlantic and the high school is the friends and social contact that he has with others. He enjoys talking with others and being a part of their lives, as they are his.
