According to superintendent Dr. Beth Johnsen from the Atlantic Community School District, the schools will be moving forward with new additions to the district. The things discussed for the high school were a secure entry, media center, commons/flex areas, and classroom additions. The middle school and Schuler Elementary discussed a secure entry, restroom renovations for Schuler, and a new sky bridge. Washington Elementary is considering educational vision, classroom additions, replacing 1958 & 1962 sections, Pre-K classrooms & playground, interior renovations, and site improvements. A goal for the high school is a main office with complete visibility of the four entrance doors. One proposed change to the high school media center is to get a smaller desk for the supervisors.
