Students plan to hold a public prayer in cooperation with local protestant churches. The prayer is to be held in front of the high school around the flagpole at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10. Students hope the prayer will help “lift our school up,” according to senior Katrina Williams. The supporting church of the event is GracePoint, with pastor Paul Iekel planning to attend to help support the event. Other local church leaders are expected to be in attendance to supplement the students who organized the event. The main organizers of the prayer are Williams and senior Sophie Johnson. The prayer was called for, “considering recent events,” according to Williams.
