English teacher Allison Beryhill, 66, ran the Pacer Test alongside students on Thursday during Matt Best’s PE class. Berryhill ran a score of 20. Several teachers have since stepped up to take on the fitness challenge. In Berryhill’s footsteps, Spanish teacher Dan Vargason, science teacher Anna Pauley, and special education teacher Mandi Brauer are hoping to run the Pacer Test next week. Berryhill said, “Students always complain about the Pacer Test, and I wanted to understand it better. I tried, but I didn’t do as well as I’d hoped. I want to take it again.” Other teachers interested in running can contact Berryhill.

Alexander Hartman is a sophomore at AHS. This is his first year in journalism. Hartman enjoys taking pictures for the journalism department. His favorite thing about taking pictures is capturing the emotions and feelings that happen during each event and feeling the excitement through the pictures. In the future, he looks forward to expanding his reach in journalism and growing his photography abilities. He is ready to branch out into the different departments journalism offers, such as podcasting, social media, and yearbook. While he would like to continue improving his photography skills, Hartman wants to remain in journalism to expand his knowledge of writing, interviewing, and journalistic ethics.
