Archery Tournament at Home

Trojan archers draw their bow, taking aim at the target.

On Saturday, Jan. 17, the Trojan Bullseye & SD Archery Tournament took place at the Atlantic Middle School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to Bound. All the Trojan archery members competed at this, along with other schools such as Diagonal, Nodaway Valley, Creston, Valley High, Murray, Jordan Creek, and Stillwell. This was the Trojans’ only tournament at home this season. The Iowa High School Archery State Tournament begins on Feb. 28 this year, and the date is approaching quickly.

  Claire Comes is a 15-year-old sophomore student involved in AHS journalism. Throughout her time in journalism Comes has taken pictures of many sporting events during the school year which include wrestling, basketball, football, and more. Some of Comes’ hobbies include spending time with family, photography, practicing her faith, as well as being involved in volleyball, basketball, track as well as many other clubs. She has two sisters, Lola (18) and Millie (6), along with her two parents Drew and Kim Comes. The Booster Club has given her the opportunity to have her pictures as the cover for some AHS sports programs.
