About the Contributor
Alex Sonntag
Alex Sonntag, Broadcasting Lead Editor
Junior Alex Sonntag is going on his second year in journalism. Last year, Sonntag was a part of the Intro to Journalism class and “did a little bit of everything.” This year, Sonntag is on both the yearbook and broadcasting teams. He likes video editing and his favorite, photography. “I really like the freedom that we get, and the classes are really fun,” said Sonntag. A two-sport athlete, Sonntag competes in cross country and track. Sonntag's goals for cross country are to help his team reach the State meet in Fort Dodge, and to run a 17:30 in the 5k race. For track, Sonntag wants to go to state for the 4x800 for his 3rd time, and hopefully qualify for the 1600 event. “Coach Vargason is like a best friend at this point,” he said. Some of his hobbies include fishing, driving around with friends, and watching his classmates compete in other sports. Sonntag works with Templeman Lawn Care, “mowing all day every day.” Lately, Sonntag has been getting into finance. He is enrolled in general business and personal finance. This upcoming year, Sonntag is most looking forward to the track season starting. For anyone joining journalism Sonntag recommends coming in with an open mind every day. “Try new things every day,” he said. Story by Cole Park and Jaylen Mcdaniel
