Spring is here which also means soccer is beginning. The Atlantic girls soccer team started practicing on Monday, Mar 23. Prior to the first practice, players put in work through open gyms every Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. The team will have two weeks of required practices before their first game which will take place at home on April 6. Returning varsity player Payton Seufert said, “I’m feeling good and I really like the new coach [Amy Sachs].” Overall the team is excited for a new season to begin.

Jayna McEntaffer is a sophomore staff member on AHS Needle who enjoys telling stories through writing. Her favorite part of journalism is writing stories because she thinks it’s interesting and cool to write down her thoughts. Her other favorite part of journalism is learning about the news and staying informed about what’s happening around her.
McEntaffer has two brothers and a sister. Outside of journalism, McEntaffer enjoys playing soccer and staying active. When she’s not on the field or working on a story, she likes going on walks because she thinks it’s calming. She hopes to continue improving her writing skills, exploring new ideas, interviewing people, and sharing meaningful stories with readers everywhere.

Shining Meither, Staff Writer
Shining is a Sophomore at AHS, and this is her first year in a journalism class. Meither enjoys taking pictures; she even has her own Instagram profile called “shinerrr._shoots”. She has been taking pictures for a while now, and even started posting during her freshman year. She is looking forward to growing her abilities and becoming a better photographer. Shining is a well-rounded journalist and also enjoys writing stories for AHS Needle; she also likes to help out with the yearbook. She joined journalism because many people she knew were doing so as well, and she really likes being involved in the atmosphere as a whole.
