This past weekend, on Feb. 14, eight boys qualified for the state wrestling tournament. This includes Braxton Hass, Donavan Hedrington, Jayden Harter, Dreven Smith, Dayton Vanhorn, Keaton Schroeder, Travin Thomas, and Landon Hagen. To celebrate this accomplishment, some of the wrestlers have decided to bleach their hair. Sophomore Keaton Schroeder explains how his coach, Jordan Zarbano, helped him bleach his hair. AHS is very proud of the team’s accomplishments this year. Their hard work and dedication has gotten them very far throughout the season. State Wrestling will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 18, through Saturday, Feb. 21.You can watch their matches for free on IHSAA website or Youtube.

Jayna McEntaffer is a sophomore staff member on AHS Needle who enjoys telling stories through writing. Her favorite part of journalism is writing stories because she thinks it’s interesting and cool to write down her thoughts. Her other favorite part of journalism is learning about the news and staying informed about what’s happening around her.
McEntaffer has two brothers and a sister. Outside of journalism, McEntaffer enjoys playing soccer and staying active. When she’s not on the field or working on a story, she likes going on walks because she thinks it’s calming. She hopes to continue improving her writing skills, exploring new ideas, interviewing people, and sharing meaningful stories with readers everywhere.

Sophia Rose, Staff Writer
Sophomore Sophia Rose is a JP student with AHS journalism. Her passion lies in photography, especially capturing emotional moments, which is shown in her photo project documenting AHS’s boys wrestling team. She is inspired by her sisters Emma and Bryer Rose who also participated in journalism. Sophia is eager to do more photography and “capture raw emotions” and significant moments at AHS.
Beyond journalism, Rose actively participates in tennis, softball, and serves as a track manager. She enjoys reading, organizing, and cherishing quality time with her family. Rose values her family and friends, recognizing their constant support, and holds her faith close to her, finding comfort and security within it.
