The girls’ track and field team prepares through the Winter Warrior program as conditioning for the upcoming spring track season. It is used as a way to get back in shape and build a strong team bond before spring sports begin. Athletes in a winter sport do not have to attend. Everyone else is encouraged, but not required. Senior Jayci Reed said, “We just do some workouts to help us get in better shape and prepare for the season. It helps keep girls motivated and get in a good mindset for the track season.” It is mainly student-run and directed, with coaches showing up occasionally for supervision and to direct workouts. It mainly takes place indoors, and sometimes outdoors. It is from 3:30 to around 4 p.m. after school, a few days a week.
