Joining FFA opens the door to countless opportunities that reach far beyond the classroom. From developing real-world leadership skills to gaining hands-on agricultural experience, FFA helps students grow into confident, capable leaders who are prepared for life after high school. Whether you’re interested in animals, plants, mechanics, public speaking, ag business, or simply looking for a supportive community to belong to, FFA has something for everyone. The organization encourages students to step out of their comfort zone, try new things, and discover their passions. Because of these experiences, FFA can shape your future in powerful, lasting ways.
The Atlantic FFA chapter comprises 81 dedicated members, including 46 girls and 35 boys, with nearly half of them residing on a farm or acreage. These students come from a variety of backgrounds, but they all share a common interest in developing as leaders. Out of the 81 members, 25 come from families actively involved in traditional livestock or crop production, giving the chapter a strong agricultural foundation. The Atlantic FFA officer team works hard every year to create meaningful activities, events, and leadership opportunities so that every member can feel included and supported. Their goal is to help each student build memories that they can look back on one day and proudly think, “I had fun in FFA.”
Many people don’t fully understand what FFA truly is. FFA is not just about farming; it is an organization that helps students develop leadership, public speaking, financial management, problem-solving, and a strong sense of civic responsibility. Members learn to lead by managing their time, setting goals, respecting themselves and others, and participating in local, state, and national programs and conferences that push them to grow in courage. “FFA offers opportunities that other organizations and activities cannot,” says the FFA advisor, Mr. Miller, emphasizing the unique experiences students gain through the program.
In the end, joining FFA isn’t just about wearing the blue jacket; it’s about becoming part of a community that supports your goals and helps you reach your full potential. Through leadership opportunities, hands-on learning, and unforgettable experiences, FFA helps students discover their strengths and prepare for a successful future. Whether you’re interested in agriculture, looking for new challenges, or simply wanting to grow as a person, FFA opens the door to endless possibilities. That’s why choosing to join FFA is a decision that can truly shape your life for the better.
