Do you ever feel like you don’t belong? Are you surrounded by peers whose destinies are set in stone years before graduation, your future a blank slate in comparison? A fairly large batch of teens may have answered yes—perhaps the other side of “no’s” do not feel the distinction at all, and cannot relate. Whatever the case, the bridge between them exists, and those who’ve yet to cross see only the flaws in its foundation. One that requires guidance to fix and scale the gap, a scarce privilege.
Accompanying the difference in plans, or lack thereof, a person’s manner of thinking may influence whether or not they feel accepted by their peers. When one struggles to converse or relate, that bridge appears yet again. Perhaps they feel trapped in an aged body, whereas inside they still think like a teen—a kid. Or, vice versa, an adult mind stuck in a teen’s body.
