Trojan XC Continues To Prosper

Despite a cancelled meet on Saturday, the two cross country teams had strong showings in Creston.

With a cancelled meet on Saturday, the Trojan cross country teams continued the season Tuesday when they ran in Creston. The boys earned first place and the girls earned third.

Three of the boys’ runners finished in the top ten. Junior Craig Alan Becker took the top spot with a time of 17:09.5, with senior Evan Brummer behind in fourth with a time of 18:07.2, and senior Bradley Dennis in ninth with a time of 18:13.7. The team had a total score of 49, and the second place team was Harlan with a score of 83. 

On the girls team, freshman Ava Rush finished sixth with a time of 21:15.4. Both teams had a few runners sitting out due to injuries. 

The next cross country meet will be September 28 at the Harlan Golf and Country Club against twelve schools, including the host school, Lewis Central, Underwood, and Treynor.
