It is now time for the seniors to take their senior photos. The pictures are due February 1st, 2019. The photos must be vertical, waist up, face forward, or slight profile. This photo is to be seniors only, so props, other people, and pets are not allowed in the photo. Eyes need to be open, with no mask or covering of the face. Photos with weapons, illegal behavior and substance–cigarettes included–will be rejected. Black and white photos will disrupt the unity of the pages, and therefore will not be accepted.

Submit photos to [email protected] or in print to the Journalism Lab. Photos will not be returned unless you make special arrangements to do so. Homeschooled students that take at least one class, or participate in at least one extracurricular activity may be included in the portrait section of The Javelin. If you aren’t satisfied with the picture taken by a professional, a journalism editor will also be available to take your picture.

Failure to submit a picture by the previously stated deadline will result in your picture being taken at school. If a student is unavailable to have their photo taken, the journalism depart will be forced to use a previous year’s picture.

A student with any further questions may contact AHS journalism instructor, Allison Berryhill at [email protected], or at 712-249-5263.
