ALL ABOUT THE BRASS – The jazz band boasts five trombone players, the largest section group. Two of the players also play bass guitar, so they switch out on that instrument at times.

The marching band had its final performance last Friday, Oct. 14. The band transitioned its focus to concert band on Monday, Oct. 17. Angelica Anderson, a senior and bass clarinet player, said that the band will have a Christmas Concert, Winter Concert (also called the Band and Vocal Concert), and a Patty Hannon Scholarship Concert. The Patty Hannon Scholarship Concert awards the winning seniors a $500 scholarship for all four years that they are in college (Bacon, 2021). According to the band director Jarrod O’Donnel, the Christmas
Concert will be on Dec. 12, the Winter Concert will be on February 14, 2023, and the Patty Hannon Scholarship Concert will be on April 23, 2023. Additionally, with these home concerts, the band will also be involved in the
All Iowa Concert Band Festival, and Large Group. The All-Iowa Concert Band Festival will be on Feb. 14, 2022, and Large Group will be on May 5, 2022.
