Throughout his years at AHS, Mason Goergen has participated in football, baseball, and golf, making many great memories. During the football season, #50 could be seen working hard with his teammates. During his freshman year, Goergen broke his collarbone and wondered if he was going to be able to play the rest of the year. A favorite memory of his is when the Trojans beat the Creston Panthers his senior year for the first Homecoming victory after a five-year drought.

Spending time with family is something Goergen said he will always enjoy. He has one younger sister, Kennedy, and his mother, Missy, has been a huge supporter throughout his life. In his free time, Goergen enjoys watching sports and hanging out with friends and family, but his favorite place to be is in Iowa City at the Kinnick Stadium.

Goergen’s grandfather has had a huge impact on his life, supporting him through sports, school, and giving advice whenever needed. He said his grandfather has always been there.

One moment Goergen said he is proud of was when he was selected to be in the National Honor Society. When he was younger, Goergen always wanted to be an optometrist because he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps, but after high school, he plans to attend the University of Iowa to major in civil engineering.
