Deanna Roark is most influenced by her mother. “She has continuously pushed me through everything, even through her sickness she has still put me first and kept me pushing forward.” In Roark’s younger years of high school she participated in, choir/ show choir, track and dance. When she graduates, her plan is to attend Iowa Western in Council Bluffs to study nursing. Before she moved to Atlantic, Roark lived in Kansas City, where she was born. When she moved here her most favorite memory was her 2017 senior prom. “It seemed like everyone finally got a chance to come together, like a family.” Roark said. She is most proud of finishing school and working hard her last couple years of high school.

If she had a do- over in life, Roark said she would’ve tried harder throughout high school. Her most memorable moment in her life so far is getting her dog Kylie. Roark said “We are just like two peas in a pod.” The teacher that had the most impact on Roark is Mr Wiley. “Even when I struggled in his class, he continued to push me. He seems like a really wise person who is straight forward.” If she had 1 million dollars, Roark would help her mom out financially, save some and give the rest to charities, such as the Children’s Hospitals.

Roark has always wanted to be a nurse, if she had a superpower she would have the power to take sickness away. Her most cherished family memory was Christmas of 2016. Her mom had her first heart attack and her family has never been so close. What makes Roark smile and happy is seeing her mom grow more healthy and not being in so much pain. “I want to be remembered as outgoing and blunt.”
