The tower trees are present in the media center window. All sorts of vegetables are currently growing for students and educators to see.

What’s the tea on the tower trees in the media center? These machines grow plants like lettuce, arugula, and basil. They have a set time to turn on their lights and water the plants. After school, visitors to AHS can spot the glowing lights. The tower trees were on display at Parent/Teacher conferences this fall. The strange-looking contraptions were donated by Rolling Hills Bank and Trust.

Media center specialist Laurie Parrott said “they thought it would be a good place to display them for everyone to see.” Parrott said the towers were brought in about a week ago. There are different labels around the towers of what is growing. There are multiple types of lettuce, kale, arugula, and sweet basil currently blooming in the media center.
