Trojan XC Working Hard This Season

Trojans earn top five team placings in Harlan.

The Trojan cross country teams ran at Harlan on Saturday, Sept. 28. The girls are ranked at #10 and the boys are ranked at #12. 

On the girls’ side of the meet, Atlantic ran against a variety of ranked teams. The host team boasted a team ranking of #4 in class 3A. Other ranked squads included AHSTW (#9 in class 1A) and Glenwood (#14 in class 3A).

In the boys’ competition, St. Albert was the only other ranked crew at the meet, as they are #15 in class 1A.

The boys earned second place at the meet in Harlan. Junior Craig Alan Becker finished in fourth place, with a time of 16:48. The boys’ team score was 95, behind the top team of Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson who had a score of 54.

The girls earned fourth place with a score of 111. Freshman Ava Rush finished in fourth place individually with a time of 20:42. They were just behind third place AHSTW who had a score of 110. Second place Glenwood had a score of 77. 

The cross country team’s next meet will be Thursday, Oct. 3 at Southeast Polk.
