This weekend, the AHS jazz band and show choir are going to be traveling to Indianola to participate in a competition.

The jazz band will be competing against four other schools; North Polk, Williamsburg, Carlisle and Knoxville. They will be playing “Pickles,” “I Hope In Time A Change Will Come,” and “Trofeo de Bolos.” Jazz band director Jarrod O’Donnell said, “It’s a new contest and our last contest before districts so it will give us more critique before districts.”

Premiere show choir will be competing against Harlan, Spirit Lake, Williamsburg and Skutt this weekend. They will be performing their show “Life; This is Not a Test,” which is composed of “Never Close Our Eyes” by Adam Lambert, “Drag Me Down” by One Direction, “Roads” by Chris Mann, “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell, “Till the Last Beat Drops” which is an original composition, and “Old Scars/Future Hearts” by All Time Low. Show choir director Jennifer Gaesser said, “I am looking forward to seeing what improvement the judges have noticed in our show.”
