Matalynn Harter is a dedicated journalist and has been for 3 years. During this time Harter has been a yearbook editor her junior year and lead Senior Magazine editor her senior year. Her favorite part of journalism is, “getting to interact and meet new people,” Harter said. “You make a lot of friends along the way that you never thought of making.” Her greatest accomplishment was during her intro to journalism class. Harter along with a couple other fellow journalists made an ad video for Midwest Dental that placed second at IHSPA. 

Outside of journalism Harter has been involved in softball, NHS, Quill and Scroll, Speech and Debate, and Dancing at Villa Dance Company. 

A big part of Harter’s life is dance. At competitive level dance Harter said she grew a lot. “I think it has really shaped who I am,” Harter said. It’s also “like a family.” 

Her future plans are to attend Mercy college of Health Sciences to become a Radiology Technician.
