Jaylen McDaniel
Jaylen McDaniel also known as “JJ”, is a sophomore at AHS. This is his first year in journalism. Being a part of journalism has gotten him the opportunity to have “fun” in high school and take pictures. Journalism has taught him a lot. “Journalism has taught me to be more patient and to manage my time better,” said McDaniel.
McDaniel has been involved in archery since he was in 6th grade. This past archery season was by far the best. He beat his personal record two different times. His best score that he got was 268/300, which “is really good”. Along with the personal bests, he made it to State and Nationals. Being a freshman at the time, was a big accomplishment.
McDaniel’s favorite memory when he was younger was when he was three years old. He opened his front door all by himself and ran out to try to find his dog that had recently gotten out. “This was the first time having freedom and getting a taste of it at a young age,” said McDaniel.
