Knox McCalla, Broadcasting Editor
Knox McCalla is a 16-year-old junior and is a junior editor for Senior Magazine, and helps on the broadcasting team. He has even created a new segment called “The McCalla Minute.” He first got into journalism because his sisters both did, and they encouraged him to try it out. And he enjoys writing and technology. The best part of Atlantic High School Journalism is the “freedom it gives me and the privileges. Getting to ask anyone anything, take pictures, write stories, and clear up misinformation.” His favorite memory is writing senior stories. Specifically getting to “make stories like the person I’m writing about.”
Outside of journalism, McCalla enjoys movies, music, making movies, “spending time with the boys,” and playing games. He is involved in journalism, choir, the musical, play, and tennis. In the future, he wants a job he can see himself in; “something social and something simple so I can have a fun time.” He is very excited for the upcoming year and to graduate. He can’t wait to see all of the fun things he accomplishes this year.
