Senior Kaydee Pedersen is a lead editor for the Javelin. Pedersen has been a part of journalism since sophomore year. Her favorite part of journalism is “helping create voices for people who may not feel seen or heard through pictures.” At first, Pedersen joined journalism as just a way to get an easy English credit but it turned out to be something she enjoyed. “It’s something I look forward to every day,” she said.  Outside of journalism, you will likely find Pedersen on the archery range or at work. She has done archery since sixth grade and enjoys spending her free time getting in some more practice. “Archery is something I feel I can always use my skills in and find ways to advance,” Pedersen said. She also works at Cass County Animal Clinic which she enjoys as “I’m constantly learning something new and getting out of my comfort zone.” After high school, she plans to attend Kirkwood Community College to become a veterinary technician.
