Kate Nichols

Kate Nichols, Co-Lead Podcast Producer

Katherine Nichols is a senior co-podcast producer, and she also is a TA for Berryhill’s English 9H. The Atlantic High School’s podcast is named “The Point” and her co-podcast producer is Ella Meyer. The junior producers are Ellie Butler and Jersey Green. Some of the things Nichols is proud of are the awards that the podcast has received. The Point earned a second place, a third place, and also an honorable mention in the spring Iowa High School Press Association news contest.  Her favorite podcast episode was with special guests Kylie Templeton and Isabelle Symonds. This episode was about life as a teenage girl (The Point Episode 5 ). Through journalism, Nichols’ enjoys getting to connect with students that might not otherwise have a chance to share their thoughts. She is also proud of three stories she has written: The Pink Tax, Seniors Advice to the Underclassmen, and Under the Influence. Nichols has been to multiple different schools throughout her years but Atlantic High School has the best environment and this is her favorite thing about the school. Some things Nichols likes to do outside of school are reading, cooking, and spending time with her boyfriend and family.
