School was closed on Friday, January 23, due to extreme cold temperatures, which fell as low as minus 10 degrees. Weather conditions were blustery, with a northeast wind ranging from 5 to 14 miles per hour and gusts reaching up to 24 miles per hour.
School Bus Coordinator Steve Anderson said he was not involved with the school closure and emphasized that it was not related to the road conditions. He said, “Dr. Johnson made the decision after conferring with other area superintendents before announcing the closure.”
