More often than we realize, we lie. We lie about what we’ve done, where we’ve been, but more importantly, who we are. Life often feels like a game of telephone, but instead of a chain of people changing the story, it’s one person telling different stories to different people to earn their acceptance and truly be considered “perfect.” This piece is based on the faces/masks we show to other people, though when we truly take down our masks, is there even a sense of ourselves anymore?

Addie Welsh, Broadcasting
Adelynn Welsh is an AHS senior, and a second-year Journalism student. Although Welsh is a Broadcasting member, she also enjoys helping with the Senior Magazine. Welsh’s favorite part of Journalism is “the process of creating everything,” she said. There is also a very non-strict curriculum, and everything is very “free form.” Welsh remembers last year being one of her favorite memories from Journalism. “It was when we were doing the advertisement unit, and we got to go around to a bunch of different places”, she said.
Although Welsh is involved in Journalism, she is also involved in many other activities. Welsh is involved in marching band, jazz band, and the musical. In Welsh’s free time, she enjoys sleeping, reading, drawing, and hanging out with friends. Welsh said, “I am just excited for school to be done because I have worked very hard these past few years.” After high school, Welsh plans on moving to Minnesota to become a graphic designer, and have a minor in creative writing.
