Adelynn “Addie” Welsh is a junior at Atlantic High School who has been part of the journalism team for less than a year. Yet to join a department in journalism and is still learning the ins and outs of everything, her favorite part of journalism is writing stories, despite really liking to take photos. “Taking photos would be a lot easier if I was invisible, so then I could capture the moment without the subjects staring into the camera,” Welsh said. What she really likes about writing stories is the fun that comes from the variety of topics, “from funny to serious,” and you have the chance to see others’ opinions when interviewing them.
Outside of journalism, Welsh is involved in many activities, such as Band, Choir, Cheer leading, Dance, and Speech, with Show Choir being her favorite. In her free time, she likes to draw and play video games, whether they’re on her Nintendo Switch or on her phone. Her favorite games are World’s End Club, Genshin Impact, and Super Mario Party. This school year, she’s looking forward to “just getting through the year without any major problems.”
