Many students at AHS walk the hallways with colorful nails, from pastels to sparkles, and even darker colors such as crimson red and jet black. Junior Xander Moore is one of those students. “It started as a joke with my friends because they wanted to wear nail polish,” Moore said. “Now, I just like wearing black nail polish. I don’t care what people think, if I want to wear it I will.” Moore likes wearing black because it’s his favorite color, but is considering trying red.

Senior Sydney Sanny loves to “pamper” herself by getting her nails done. “It makes me feel pretty,” Sanny said. Sanny prefers a square shape with rounded edges, a simple color, and a medium to short length. “I feel like I can’t do anything with my hands when my nails are too long,” Sanny said. Her favorite set was an ombre color for her 16th birthday last year.  “Since it’s fall, browns and dark colors are definitely in style right now,” Sanny said.

I love this set because lavender is my favorite color.

Sophomore Laney Brosam is currently “in love” with her set. “I love this set because lavender is my favorite color,” Brosam said. Brosam likes her nails done just above her finger.  She always shapes her nails into a rounded square. “It makes me feel more put together when I have my nails done,” Brosam said.

Sophomore Josephine Sorensen loves getting her nails done long, and coffin shaped.  “I really like bright colors and having long nails because I like the way they look,” Sorensen said.  “I like being able to express myself through my nails.”
