The year is littered with various events that students can partake in. Many of them are ways to spread happiness and joy. The sale of Crush-O-Grams falls into this category. Each year before Valentine’s Day, students are able to participate in this event. Hosted by NHS, the members split into groups and sell the Crush-O-Grams during lunch periods. The can of soda can be purchased for $2. Flavors such as grape, strawberry, and orange are available.

The event is used to fund medals awarded to senior NHS members at graduation. The students will wear the medals with their graduation robes and other pins and cords in recognition for activities the students are involved in.

The sale of Crush-O-Grams will end on Monday, Feb. 10. On Thursday, Feb. 13, the NHS members will wrap the cans and deliver them to students on Friday, Feb. 14. Pupils who purchased the can for friends can leave notes along with their sugary treat. Most people, however, choose not to send one with a comment attached.

Freshman Alex Keiser has already bought a few Crush-O-Grams for his friends. “I enjoy that people actually get something for a couple of bucks,” Keiser said. He enjoys spreading the joy to his friends with this sugary treat. “I like to give stuff like food to my friends,” he said.

Crush-O-Grams can be purchased during both lunch periods.
