Pete Buttigieg is coming to Atlantic on Monday at The Venue. Buttigieg will be speaking at 3:30 about social security and long term care planning.

In Iowa, Buttigieg surged to power and surpassed fellow running mates Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden. His support percentage soared 16 points since September and now sits at 25 percent: a clear lead in the democratic race. In the latest Iowa polls, Warren sits at 16 percent, while Biden and Bernie Sanders are tied at 15 percent. Buttigieg’s 16-point rise pushed Warren down six points and Biden down five points.

A bright spot for the presidential hopeful in numbers was that 63 percent of likely caucus-goers believe his views are about right, which is the highest of the four candidates that were tested. Only seven percent believed his views were too liberal, while 13 percent believe Buttigieg is too conservative.

Currently, Buttigieg is the 37-year-old mayor of South Bend, Ind.
