SWIHMB stands for Southwest Iowa Honor Marching Band. It’s an honor band that you have to audition for and it only occurs every other year. It is also only for students in southwest Iowa. Altogether, there are almost 200 students on the trip and 13 students are from Atlantic.

Attending SWIHMB are freshmen Hunter Weppler and Bryan York, sophomore Reagan Watson, juniors Hana Holtz, McKayla Weppler, Grace Clay, and Erin Barrick, and seniors Sarah Schorle, Caleb Spurr, Caine Page, Katie York, and Chris Krogh.

These students have been working tirelessly on their honor band music since July of this year. They had a week long camp they were required to attend along with a day camp on November 6. They will depart on December 27, 2018 to Tampa Bay, Florida and return to Atlantic on January 2, 2019. They will play in the halftime show of the Outback Bowl along with the pre-game parade.
