This week on from Thurs. November 17 to Sun. November 20, the students who were accepted into the All-state Honor band and choir group will be traveling 2 hours to Ames to perform in the concert. There will be 280 other band and 300 choir students along with the five that will represent Atlantic. Aaron Rothfusz for choir, Megan Behrends, Rebekah Hallman, Hannah Richter and Nadia Somers for band. Band director Jarrod O’Donnell said he looks forward to the concert because “it’s a great time to see colleagues I don’t see often, and I get to hear great music.”

On Thursday, the members of both groups will have their auditions for chair placements and where they will be standing for the concert. Friday they will begin rehearsal that starts at 8 a.m. and end at 8 p.m. Finally on Saturday, the All-state members will have a final rehearsal from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m. then at 7:30 p.m. perform.

Performing at his second All-state concert, Aaron Rothfusz said he is looking forward to, “being around other individuals who have the same passion for music as I do.”
