Nina Welter, Business Manager

Creative, exciting, and relaxing: this is Journalism for Nina Welter. As a junior at Atlantic High School, Welter serves as a business manager for the AHS journalism department accounting for thousands of dollars invested in the program whilst working on the yearbook.

“I have always loved writing and taking pictures, I chose the yearbook field because I think it is so cool to create the whole book”, said the student who is most proud of the art page yearbook project.

Being a part of the journalism department has offered Welter opportunities to “do things I wouldn’t even think of normally doing,” filling her two-year experience as a journalist with memories captured in pictures “full of action” like those taken at a school’s soccer game. “I have a great time in class no matter what we are doing. There are no hard feeling between anyone and everyone gets along.”

Music is part of Welter’s life and journalistic process as it helps to keep her focused during writing sessions. “I put music in my writing,” said Welter who is also involved in Premiere and Chamber Choir.

With determination being her greatest strength, Welter is also described as “talkative” and “energetic.”

“Better an oops than a what if,” Welter concluded in describing herself."
