From football jerseys to fuzzy sweaters, slippers to platform boots, most people have something they wear that corresponds to their personality, culture, taste, or opinions and AHS is no exception from this pattern. So many people use their clothing to identify themselves and it’s seen so often that most don’t give it much thought. Junior Alix Nath said, “It helps me show who I am and know who I am.” Most students claim the same thing. AHS has had a diverse closet between the student body for ages.
Among AHS students, personality and mood are some of the biggest factors affecting how each individual dresses. Sophomore Fletchor Toft said, “A lot of what people like affects it.”
However, junior Henry Knudsen said that it can fall more towards cliques than taste. Knudsen also said that there is a lot of variety within the student body.
But the factor that is seen most is representation and support. It is no secret that the AHS student body dresses to impress. Once a theme is mentioned for a football, basketball, or volleyball game, the Trojans are immediately up on their feet and preparing.
Although comfort is never excluded from the dress of the mighty Trojans. Spanish teacher Trisha Niceswanger said that they dress for comfort. Niceswanger also is amidst the representation fad here at AHS. Niceswanger said that the brand isn’t specific. Which isn’t something that a lot of people tend to think about. Looking around AHS, big brands like Nike or Under Armour are seen plenty. In the case of shoes, Nike, Adidas, Birkenstocks, and Brooks are very popular. Niceswanger said they own multiple colors of the same shoe and will commonly wear them throughout the week.
Regardless of what you wear within AHS, you have a place here amidst the Trojans.
