What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever done? Several AHS students have said that they have done a number of things. An anonymous student shared with us that they stole 50 golf balls during their freshman year of school. We don’t find that ‘funny,’ but some people do. There are a lot of people who can be very funny. What we see humorously frequently refers to what we have known and how we understand life.

Tristan Hayes and Cade Smith were at the YMCA one day playing some air hockey. Hayes was listening to “Bust Down” by Blueface. “[I] hopped on the air hockey and then started busting down,” Hayes said. A parent yelled at them and told a YMCA employee and they got kicked out for two weeks. They just got out of school and wanted to do something and they said their thoughts after school was, “you know what we’re going to send it.”

What makes each person unique? Their disposition is to be who they are and stand out from the people. That is a tribute because most people are not comfortable embracing their differences and approaching their lifetime based on their preferences. Furthermore, most people are not ready to show off their real personalities and how they interact with this reality. Humor is a sense of levity and agility. It is the way of looking at and identifying this reality that brings expression to people. The person with this power of humor is skilled in looking at the funny side of things, getting smiles and laughter from others, and identifying and communicating these absurdities in life. People with power don’t specifically want to be joke tellers, although some are. For people, humor has significant health benefits, both psychological and personal.

Humor stretches the idea to see things from other perspectives, keeping people mentally intelligent and aware. Giving people a laugh also creates positive emotions and feelings for this initiator. And, when people exist on the receiving point of mood, they also have some benefits. Scientists have shown that laughter reduces tension, encourages connection with other people, and may still better focus. Laughing is infectious and bonds us to different people.
