Trojans Compete In Two Meets

Trojan Girls’ Golf team competed in two meets last week.

Over the past week, the girls’ golf team has competed in two meets. The first one was Monday, April 15 against West Des Moines Valley, and the second meet was on Thursday, April 18 against Clarinda.

Their first meet of the week, they placed fourth with a score of 378. It was the first 18 hole tournament for junior Belle Wickman, and sophomore Lauren Nicholas. Senior Alyssa Ginther placed 3rd with a score of 81. Senior Baylee Newell scored 92, and senior Hannah Alff scored 103. Sophomore Anna Wieser scored 109, and Nicholas scored 102. Wickman scored 122.

The girls’ second meet was at home against Clarinda. They placed first with Ginther scoring 38 and being a medalist, and Newell scoring a 40 and was a runner up. These were their best scores of the season. Wieser scored 49, Alff a 55, and Nicolas a 65. Wickman continues to improve with a score of 63, even from last season.

Their next meet will be Monday, April 22 at Veenker Memorial Golf Course.
