Trojan XC has a Successful Saturday

The cross country teams traveled to Swan Lake in Carroll, IA for the meet hosted by Kuemper Catholic.

There was no sleeping in for Trojan cross country this past Saturday as they had an early morning bus ride to the meet hosted by Kuemper Catholic. The course was marked around Swan Lake in Carroll, and Atlantic was part of the Class A division. The boys ran at 10:00 a.m. and the girls at 10:30 a.m., with middle school boys and girls to follow.

With another second-place finish from Jalen Petersen, the boys’ team finished fourth with a total of 115 points. Petersen ran a time of 17:57 and behind him in 13th place was Bradley Dennis, then Evan Brummer in 16th, Cooper Jipsen 41st, Zane Berg 43rd, Ethan Williams 61st and Nathan Brockman in 65th place to complete the varsity seven lineup.

All seven varsity girls finished places 1-30 and second as a team to Harlan, the #4 ranked team for 3A girls. Taylor McCreedy took the first-place position with a 23-second lead on second-place Brenna Fisher from Spencer, followed by Ashley Wendt in 11th, Karsyn Rush 14th, Madison Botos 21st and Pluma Pross 23rd, totaling 70 points for their team score. Addie DeArment and Katie Saluk were runners six and seven for the girls in 29th and 30th.
