Bailey Roland is all about her family and would do anything for them. “My family is filled with the most unique and craziest people you’ll ever meet, but we’re always a joy to be around,” Roland said. The person that’s impacted her life the most is her dad because “he’s the best guy” she knows and she is very thankful to have him in her life.

Roland spends most of her free time with her family, friends or pets: two cats, Chester and Milo and a dog, Jasmine. She also enjoys setting some time aside to read a good book. Roland loves all of the Harry Potter books and “anything written by Michael Faudet,” such as bestsellers Dirty Pretty Things and Bitter Sweet Love. Roland also likes many other books and said, “I’m a very adventurous reader so I will probably try to read about anything under the sun.”

Roland is very proud of this year and everything she’s accomplished with herself. “I really stopped caring about what people think and I really tried to better myself,” Roland said. Along with that, she is also proud of making All-State speech and debate her first year participating, but her favorite school memory was in middle school when everyone in her grade sang happy birthday to her and got detentions because they had been told they weren’t allowed to do it.

This fall, Roland plans to attend Northwest Missouri State University to major in high school English education, which is far from her childhood dream of becoming an astronaut because she “thought she could keep a star if she went into outer space.”
